I once told my dad he didn't say 'I love you' enough.

He just walked over, silently fixed the leaky faucet I'd been ignoring for weeks, and then left a freshly brewed cup of coffee on my desk. And you know what? I've never felt more loved.

I tried to bake my dad a cake for Father's Day, but I accidentally used salt instead of sugar.

He took one bite, made a face like he'd swallowed a lemon, but then just smiled and said, 'You know, this is exactly what I wanted. A reminder of how much effort you put in.' And I realized he's been appreciating my 'best efforts' his whole life.

For Father's Day, I considered getting my dad a fancy new drone...

...but then I realized he'd only use it to check if his mowing lines were perfectly straight.
