Dad's been working on his latest home improvement project for weeks

I'm starting to think his 'honey-do' list is actually a 'never-done' list

On Father's Day, I decided to give my dad the gift of a personalized photo album filled with pictures of his grandkids.

As he flipped through the pages, he got teary-eyed and said, 'This is the best gift I've ever received – mainly because it's the only thing they've ever made that doesn't have glue on it.'

I asked my dad to write a letter to his future self for Father's Day, and when I read it, I found out why he's always been so patient with me.

It said, 'Dear future self, by now you've figured out that all those times you thought you were teaching your kids something, they were actually teaching you patience, forgiveness, and what it means to love unconditionally. Happy Father's Day.'

I tried to bake my dad a cake for Father's Day, but I accidentally used salt instead of sugar.

He took one bite, made a face like he'd swallowed a lemon, but then just smiled and said, 'You know, this is exactly what I wanted. A reminder of how much effort you put in.' And I realized he's been appreciating my 'best efforts' his whole life.
