I framed a picture of my dad's handyman to-do list for Father's Day

And he said it was the first time someone finally understood his life's work

I asked my dad to write a letter to his future self for Father's Day, and when I read it, I found out why he's always been so patient with me.

It said, 'Dear future self, by now you've figured out that all those times you thought you were teaching your kids something, they were actually teaching you patience, forgiveness, and what it means to love unconditionally. Happy Father's Day.'

I asked my dad what he loved most about being a father on Father's Day

He said, 'It's not the milestones, it's the moments in between – like when you kids were little and thought I was the smartest person alive, and even though you're older now, you still call me for advice, which means you either still think I'm smart or you just feel sorry for me – either way, I'll take it.'

My dad got a brand new grill for Father's Day, and he spent the whole morning meticulously arranging the charcoal.

He said, 'I'm just making sure everything is in its proper *grill-spot*.'
