I wanted to get my dad the perfect Father's Day gift this year.

So I just subtly moved his favorite wrench one slot over in his toolbox. He'll be happily perplexed for hours.

My dad always said his greatest talent was being able to fix anything around the house.

And while he did master everything from leaky faucets to wobbly chairs, his real superpower was always knowing how to fix a bad day, usually with a groan-worthy dad joke and a hug that somehow glued everything back together.

I asked my dad to make a bucket list for Father's Day

and it was just a list of all the things he wants to fix around the house before he dies

My dad tried to teach me how to fish once.

After an hour of tangled lines and no bites, he finally just put his arm around me and said, 'You know, the best part isn't catching fish, it's just being here with you.' He still didn't catch anything that day, but he definitely caught my heart.
