For Father's Day, I considered getting my dad a fancy new drone...

...but then I realized he'd only use it to check if his mowing lines were perfectly straight.

I asked my dad what he was most proud of as a father on Father's Day, and he smiled

and said, 'The fact that you're all still talking to me after all these years, despite my dad jokes.'

My dad said he didn't need anything for Father's Day.

Ten minutes later, I found him in the garage, 'just finishing up' a project he started back when I was in elementary school.

My dad said for Father's Day, he just wanted one thing.

"An entire afternoon in the garage," he mumbled, "without anyone asking where the spare batteries are."
